A tale of 10 paintings in ISS
German astronaut will make 10 paintings from ISS to promote art, which will be auctioned after the trip to raise funds for trip.
Description
My idea proposes to create a series of 10 paintings in space when the German astronaut is in space, ideally these will be recreations of legendary paintings like Monalisa. The tools required for this is light weight and easy to carry from earth small canvas 10 in number, 3 painting brushes, pencil, sketch pens and colors, stencils for pre-liminary outline and to stop the paint from spreading. This will also ensure that the German astronaut will not feel lonely in ISS as it will keep them engaged doing something out of the time they are in space. I would recommend about 30 minute for each painting each day in space. This can be used to raise the awareness about art in space by woman, people have becoming digitized and old traditional painting & art is fast disappearing and we are ending up painting in softwares like Illustrator and photoshop. My research shows that it is possible to paint from space, there were a few successful attempts earlier too but it was for pleasure. *Astronaut Nicole Stott took a small box of watercolors and painted while on the International Space Station in 2009 *Cosmonaut Alexei Leonov took along colored pencils and drew a sunrise on the flight of Voskhod 2 in 1965 *On the joint Apollo - Soyuz mission in 1975 Leonov showed his portrait of astronaut Tom Stafford. Sponsors:- Art museums can act as sponsor and help auction the painting made in space by first German female astronaut. *Gemaldegalerie Alte Meister (Dresden) *Staedel Museum (Frankfurt) *Alte Pinakothek (Munich) *New Pinakothek (Munich) *The Louvre, France *Museum Ludwig (Cologne) *Van Gogh Museum, Netherlands Company this what which came to my mind there might be better options here:- *Faber-Castell *Staedtler - Pencils *Sennelier - colors *Winsor & Newton - colors *DaVinci ( Artist Brush company) *Fredrix for art canvas Later these 10 paintings will be auctioned off, general public will have opportunity to own a piece of German art history, the first painting in space by the first German astronaut. I believe paintings & art pack enough punch to send a female German astronaut to space, I did some research on some of the most expensive paintings in the world. There are some paintings in the world that is worth $450.3 millions for a single painting one such one is Salvator Mundi by Leonardo da Vinci brought by Abu Dhabi Department of Culture & Tourism. I agree we are not sending Da Vinci to space but in the list below we can find out great potential sponsors and even if we can get a fraction of this kind of funding that will be large amount. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_most_expensive_paintings
