Bloom in space - Fragrance
Growing flowers in existing astroculture unit in ISS and extracting their exotic and unique fragrance and recreating it on earth.
Description
By 2024, the global fragrance market is estimated to be worth about USD 92 billion. My idea proposes to grow some flowers in the existing Astroculture unit in the ISS and collect the space grown samples and extract the fragrance from these space grown varieties and compare it with earth grown ones. A similar experiment was conducted by NASA earlier and it was found that space grown rose had a completely new unique and exotic fragrance compared to the one on earth. Say for example we manage to grow rose in space and extract the fragrance oil from this rose, then I think it will create a unique new fragrance. This fragrance can be sold as new fragrance by any of the sponsors which can be any leading perfume company in the world. The new fragrance of the space grown sample can be recreated synthetically here on earth. Some of the sponsors I can think off in this sectors are.
