The female astronaut will conduct research, experiments, feasibility studies etc on the topic of energy/power in space. Why? Because (1) optimizing renewable energy sources and energy efficiency in space is important to orbiting satellites or space missions; (2) innovation in power tech shall facilitate future extended range space travel e.g. to Mars and (3) humankind needs innovation for meeting its growing requirement for energy. Useful sponsorship, education and infotainment opportunities come from associating the female astronaut's work on energy and power technologies with "Women Power" - such as women power messaging in the media, organizing events around Germany/elsewhere as the ISS orbit passes over them, celebrating women's contributions to the technologies that are driving human exploration. Companies like Siemens, Schneider Electric, Itron, IBM, ABB, etc might be interested in associating themselves with women power and energy research.
