My idea proposes to run a radio station from space by German astronaut in space during 7 days when German astronaut is in ISS, this radio station can be listened from earth. No additional technology or mass has to be taken to space for implementing this idea which generates funding for the mission. The Internet connection in ISS uses the Ku-band, which delivers throughput around 10Mbit/sec down and 3Mbit/sec up from the station--roughly equivalent to a home Internet connection, the same will be used to broadcast the space radio station back to earth radio stations from which it will be broadcasted as radio waves and people can listen it from radio. The astronaut will be the radio jockey from space giving periodic updates from ISS, the ISS radio station will play songs most of the times with advertisements and updates from astronaut, the songs are chosen by astronaut in space and also people on earth can request their favorites songs via social media Twitter & facebook with has tags which will give a wide coverage for this mission. Anybody on earth can broadcast 30 second to 60 second audio advertisement by using the ISS Radio mobile app and choose the time when they want it to boradcast and paying for the braodcasting fees, the audio ads will be reviewed by a pre screen team on earth before playing on ISS radio. It is possible for me to sing a birthday song for my girl friend and boradcast it from space, they are lot of other possibilities also. The funding will come from the cost of advertisements in the ISS radio, the costs will be high for advertisements in space radio but it will create a lot of buzz for the companies and organizations advertising. The radio will host also a women eccentric shows to create awareness for women empowerment from space hosted live by astronaut.
